Who doesn’t like pizza, eh? A nice thin and crispy base, loads of tomato sauce, plenty of cheese and of course, a ton of pineapple. Eric Osuna and Dolores Entertainment have a slice of the surreal to taste with A Pizza Delivery.
“A Pizza Delivery is a narrative exploration game with puzzle elements focused on connecting with people. Share pizza with charming characters to uncover their stories—and your own. Drive and explore a strange, meditative world filled with secrets.”

With a title like A Pizza Delivery, you’d think that the game was about delivering pizza, but it’s not really. Yeah delivering pizza is an aspect, but it’s not the driving force. You play as B, just B and you hop on your moped with the intent of getting folks their pizzas. However, and right from the off, the world that B finds herself in is not exactly “normal”. There’s something dreamlike and surreal about everything.

Less of a speeding around a city in a rush to get people their pizza, and more of a slow burn narrative with a touch of exploration thrown in. B has one last pizza to deliver before her shift ends, but her journey is not going to be a straight forward one, as she has to deal with puzzles, multiple unusual locales and the odd character to meet and chat to. The graphics are simple, but this makes the environments that you find yourself in all the more attractive and picturesque. As you progress, you’ll find your path blocked and usually, there’s a puzzle that needs solving. These puzzles are the best gameplay mechanic here, so it’s a bit of a shame that there aren’t more of them and A Pizza Delivery is a short title and it can be finished in around a couple of hours or so.

The people you meet on your journey often make little sense and will only talk to you if you offer them a slice of pizza. While their ramblings may be a tad confusing, by the time the story is over, things make a lot more sense. Overall, A Pizza Delivery is a short but sweet slice of storytelling, with a few issues. The moped is a little awkward to ride and it does this little animation of B putting the stand up every time. It’s a bit annoying. I did have several graphical and camera issues. Nothing game breaking and again, annoying. Then there’s the £13 price, it’s a tad too much for such a short game experience and one that does have serval rough edges. Regardless, A Pizza Delivery is a nice little experience, while it lasts. The trailer does say that it is available for PC and all the consoles, but I couldn’t find it for the Switch. But yeah, it is available on everything else. Perhaps pick it up in a sale further down the line.
